Below is a list of workshops being offered at ScubaFest. If any new workshops become available they will be posted here, so be sure to check back!
Rich Lauer will present Digital Photo Correction
The vast majority of the pictures taken today are done with digital camera, from expensive SLRs to point and shoot. This has allowed divers and snorkelers everywhere to photograph reefs, wrecks and their diving friends. But very few digital pictures come out perfect, especially those taken underwater, where even the cleanest water will add blue or green, and soften your final images. One of the benefits of digital photography is that the photographer can modify and tweak a nearly unflawed photo; make it sharper, vitalize the color, add some pizazz.
In this popular workshop, photographer Rich Lauer will introduce you to Photoshop Elements, demonstrating the tools and techniques to correct, sharpen, and otherwise improve your pictures. The workshop will take you from 1-touch correction to more involved enhancements; although it emphasizes Elements 10, you will be able to use most of the techniques with any version of Photoshop.
It is recommended that you bring your laptop and Photoshop program to the class; you will be able to download the pictures onto your computer and do the exercises along with the instructor. A detailed, step-by-step handout will be given to each participant to allow you to practice the procedures later.
Andy Silverman of Columbus Scuba will present: PADI Equipment Specialty Course
